I get an Access Violation when running AutoRun Wizard, why?

60,619 views - Updated 10-28-2026 - AutoRun Studio FAQ

Older versions of AutoRun Wizard (v2.02 and earlier) could show an Access Violation when the Sound feature played an MP3 with the option "Play sound file until the autorun is complete." That defect was fixed in v2.03.

Download the latest version (currently v2.05). Then open your project and click Save, so the updated autorun.exe is copied into your Base Folder, and burn or copy your disc or drive again. Registered users upgrade free; see how to upgrade.

Still seeing an Access Violation in the latest version? Try a different sound file (a WAV instead of an MP3) to find out whether the sound is the cause, and see sound file errors. If it persists, contact us with the exact message and what you were doing when it appeared.

Try it yourself. AutoRun Studio is free to download and fully functional - see how it handles this on your own USB drive or CD.
