How do I AutoRun a PowerPoint file?

66,720 views - Updated 10-28-2026 - AutoRun Studio FAQ

You can autorun any file with AutoRun Wizard, including a PowerPoint presentation:

  1. Copy the presentation into your Base Folder.
  2. On the Auto Launch tab choose Launch File(s) and click Configure.
  3. Select the first file, click the [...] button, and use the small folder icon to select your presentation.
  4. Save, then click Test.

Windows opens the file with the program associated with PowerPoint files on that PC.

Open straight into the slide show

Save the presentation as a PowerPoint Show (.ppsx) with File > Save As. A .ppsx opens directly in slide show mode instead of the editor. Alternatively, launch PowerPoint itself with the /S switch; see PowerPoint command line options.

What if my users do not have PowerPoint?

Many PCs do not. Export the presentation as an MP4 video or a PDF so it opens everywhere. See Do my customers need PowerPoint installed?

Try it yourself. AutoRun Studio is free to download and fully functional - see how it handles this on your own USB drive or CD.
